Camp Turtle Island, an Anishinaabe Cultural Camp inside the White Earth Nation, held a beautiful “Day of Resistance” Saturday, July 21st featuring live music from Sarah Cav-Cedars and Annie Humphrey as well as others who joined in throughout the afternoon during the open mic!
SEEKJOY helped assemble the stage using reclaimed materials and powered the PA system throughout the day via Solar. We also led a mini workshop on how to assemble the primary components of an off-grid solar array into a fully operational generator which allowed participants to charge their phones via the sun, even on a cloudy day! Our booth was setup offering Water Droplets and branded logo patches in exchange for contributions to our work!
Photos from the event have been uploaded into a gallery on facebook and are available via the SEEKJOY Community Smugmug Portal as well.
Sending love to everyone who came out and a HUGE thank you Bill Paulson for having opened up his beautiful camp for the world to see!
