A Video Illustration laying over data from the active Line 3 Pipeline Corridor in comparison to the “Severe Drought” zone that went into effect July 1st in Northern Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources permitted Enbridge Energy to appropriate roughly 5 billion gallons of water from along the proposed route to construct the Line 3 Tar Sands Oil Pipeline over the coming weeks/months (Permit 2018-3420).
Data for this illustration was compiled 7/5/2021. The Pipeline Corridor Route was sourced from WatchTheLineMN.org and laid over the current Drought Map via U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) at dashboard.waterdata.usgs.gov.
