MNPPC: An Interfaith Response ~ No Line 3! Photo Recap

As part of Minnesota’s Poor People’s Campaign over 500 faith leaders from Minnesota and the surrounding area signed a letter opposing the Line 3 Replacement Pipeline Project and delivered it to MN. Gov. Mark Dayton & the Public Utilities Commission.

The event, organized by MNPPC and Minnesota Interfaith Power & Light, began at 2:00pm with a rally at Leif Erickson Park in Downtown St. Paul with a variety of speakers and several songs from Jayanthi Kyle.

A group of faith leaders branched from the rally to deliver the letter to Dayton’s office inside the Minnesota State Capital.

The rally then began moving across the Capital grounds and began a march down Cedar to the Public Utilities Commission accompanied by a marching band and a variety of signage and banners.

The written letter in opposition to the Line 3 Replacement Pipeline Project was delivered at 4:28 to the Public Utilities Commission where it will be added to the official record. The final PUC decision will come at the close of 4 days of deliberation by PUC Commissioners June 18th, 19th, 27th, and 28th.
